Chicken House Design Questions

Before you start building your chicken house, it's important to ask yourself some important design questions that will have an impact with how the chicken coop runs and looks in the end.

If you rush into the chicken house building process without first figuring out exactly what you need, you're going to run into difficulties.

Here are the main chicken house design questions to think about.

Size Of Your Coop

First figure out how large you want your chicken coop to be. Should you have a small, medium, or large coop? Figure out how many chickens - maximum, you want to have and then go from there.

Type of Ground Floor

Next, look at the ground floor. Are you just going to leave the ground as it is or are you going to construct an alternative flooring source. If the land you have right now is not really all that level, i'ts critical that you find a way to make it flatter before you start to build.

Main Light Source

Another important component of your chicken coop is the light source you are planning to have. If you get a lot of natural sunlight then you should be trying to maximize this, while if you don't get a lot of sunlight, consider an alternate electric source.

By being sure you keep these points in mind, you'll be sure you are satisfied with the chicken house you build.
